Beijing Academy of creative Arts (BACA) was founded in 2011 by the St. Elite Art Centre in Beijing. Working as UAL’s (University of the Arts London) official recruitment representative since 1998, St. Elite took the next step to support China’s aspiring artists and founded BACA.
One of its kind in China, the academy is the first step for students wishing to attend the UK’s most prestigious art schools.
Today, the academy’s art and design programs include the Pearson Foundation Diploma, the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design and Creative Media, the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher Nationals in Business, as well as the Pearson Level 3 Advanced GCE in Art and Design.
BACA began with the Foundation course in 2011, expanding in 2014 to offer HNC Fashion and Art Management programmes and pre-sessional English courses. In 2017, the academy added the British A-Level for younger students aged 15-16, and in 2020, the international Diploma in Art and Design was introduced. BACA received the Pearson Edexcel Crossover of the Year Award in 2019 and 2021, highlighting its commitment to a holistic education.
In 2021, BACA expanded to its Hutong Campus, providing further teaching opportunities for A-Level students. BACA's latest addition is the new Portfolio school, located beside the Main Campus and offering customizable packages for BA and MA course preparations at UAL, as well as various short courses for the public. With an impressive course portfolio, BACA also stands out by having won multiple awards. In 2019 and 2021, BACA received the Pearson Edexcel Crossover of the Year Award at the 2021 Pearson Edexcel China Annual Conference in Changsha. The award recognises BACA’s reputation as an outstanding examination centre with a commitment to practicing a holistic education.
