If you answered yes to all these questions, then the BACA One Year A-Level course will be your perfect fit.

Our immersive and fast-paced one-year course offers a supportive and open environment, where you can explore the many creative and experimental possibilities that art offers. Throughout the year you will be introduced to a range of creative topics, which will provide a solid foundation of art and design subjects.

The second half of the year will see you choose your pathway with the view to develop your knowledge, understanding and practical abilities of your chosen studies. With the support of a fully international teaching staff, you will be encouraged to push your limits within an English-speaking environment. BACA additionally offers tailored English support for all students throughout the course.

One-Year A-Level Pathways

Graphics and Photo Media

Graphics and Photo-Media form effective tools for communication that captivate, motivate and encourage. With BACA's Graphics and Photo-Media pathway at A-Level, you will immerse yourself into a world of creative possibilities, experimenting with photography and lens-based media, video and digital imaging as well as traditional craft-based subjects. Through the development of a range of graphic languages and media you will take your first steps in the world of visual communication.

Textile

Textiles exsists in many forms, it is essentially surface design, which comprises of many diverse materials. You will develop essential 2D and 3D design skills involving various techniques and processes, using traditional craft-based as well as more contemporary methods. This pathway is perfect for those interested in fine art and a tactile approach to creative asignments. At BACA, we encourage you to be curious and contextualize your knowledge of artists and designers, with a view to gain a wider understanding of textile art.

Fine Arts

Challenge yourself by entering the exciting world of A-Level Fine Art at BACA. The study of fine art generally involves the exploration and development of skills and techniques related to various forms of artistic expression, such as painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and multimedia art. As you progress, they may specialize in a particular medium or style, and develop their own unique artistic voice.

In addition to technical skills, fine art education often includes the study of art history and theory. This can involve examining the work of artists throughout history, learning about different artistic movements and styles, and exploring the cultural and social contexts in which art is created.

Critical and context studies

At BACA, we believe that creative skills and critical writing go hand in hand. Our CCS program is integrated into all aspects of your education, including written annotations and essays. You will have dedicated periods for creative workshops, lectures, English language teaching, and one-to-one tutorials with our tutors. We also offer IELTS classes to improve your English proficiency, which is crucial for admission to University of Arts London courses. Our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive education that develops your technical abilities, critical thinking, and communication skills.
