Jo is a British graphic designer and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree from the Northumbria University and a Master of Arts degree from Teesside University as well as being selected as the sole recipient of the Arts & Humanities Research Council Scholarship award.
She has worked as a professional graphic designer since 2006 and became a qualified educator in 2009. Jo has particular interests, strengths and experience in both the creation of art as well as teaching graphic design. She works with a meticulous sense of detail, involving but not exclusive to: advertising and promotion, editorial and publication, branding material and colour theory as well as conceptual problem-solving.
Her professional roles working for design agencies as well as educational institutions have each offered her the chance to relay relevant visual and conceptual methodologies to a culturally diverse mix of colleagues, clientele and students. Jo has previously worked across the United Kingdom, Italy, Singapore, Qatar and China.
Jo joined BACA in 2019 as A-Level graphic design teacher. In the classroom she continues to create a flourishing, dynamic and inspirational environment for her teaching and learning practice and strives towards enhancing BACA’s brand as a pioneering center of art, design and media focusing on educational excellence.
Jo is a motivated person with a keen interest, passion and dedication for art, culture, graphic design and media. She has the skills and abilities to make a positive contribution to the development of teaching and student learning in a social and inclusive context with regard to her knowledge and experience in various commercial design positions, as well as international and UK-based teaching roles.
